is this from no synthroid?

by octbride, May 11, 2008 11:31AM
so u all know my TT was on tuesday...and before that, i was on 112 of synthroid to try and shrink the nodule, but i wasn't hypo or anyhting and my bloodtests always came back normal.  so until the pathology report comes in on tuesday, my dr. said don't take any synthroid just incase i have to do RAI (fingers crossed!!!!).  well yesterday i started to feel weird. i have been breaking out in sweats every little while, and this morning i felt like i had drank a big cup of coffee without eating anything (kind of jittery/sick feeling), but i hadn't had any caffeine.  is this because i don't have any thyroid hormone happening or is it a problem???

thanks, and happy mother's day to all the mamas :))   (first double smile!!!!!!)

It's probably because you are going Hypo. Welcome to the thyroid roller coaster. Buckle up. Hate to have you go flying out on a sharp curve.

I felt like this after my surgery and I was on Cytomel (because I did Thyrogen for my RAI).  It could be any number of things, your body coming off the anesthetic, the pain pills, a "hormone dump".  I had no explanation for mine, but I know lots of people on this board felt the same strange sensations post TT.  Look at it this way- you were just cut open and a very important gland was removed from your body.  This is a trauma to the body and it takes time to recover from it.  SO hard to hear when you're in the thick of it, but please know that This Too Shall Pass :)
