Herpes from a bathing suit?

by airblaster15, May 11, 2008 11:43AM
after a celebratory win a few weeks ago, my lacrosse team and I got into the highschool (not ours) pool and swam around yada yada... Anyways I found a speedo in the waterpolo bin and wore it for maybe 25 minutes. In and out of the water.

About two weeks after the incident i realized some red bumps above my penis where the elastic waistband would be. I immediately freaked and looked online, I read that first outbreak comes with a strong stomach ache, which came the next day. The bumps have now gotten worse and having little whiteheads, like small pimples. There are a few on the inside of my thighs, but none on my penis. I am extremely worried about the situation and do not want to live with this. Any cure in the future to help my extremely unlucky situation.

The lacrosse game was on a saturday night, so the soonest someone could have worn it was maybe friday afternoon. It was a very small SPEEDO suit.. like underwear briefs.

this has lasted for 2 weeks but rash is starting to die down. however i spotted very small white bumps below my penis head. i have not had sex of any kind, and the rash first came about two weeks after incident. i am extremely worried

The answer is still the same as the one I gave to you on the other board you asked this on ( or asked here under another name - I know this was just asked within the last week elsewhere ).  You didn't get herpes from wearing this pair of swim trunks.  did you follow up on your rash to see what is really causing it?

i went in to a clinic and the doctor examined it and said it may be folliculitis. But within a week later redness increased, then lasted about two weeks went down, and today pus filled bumps are starting to return.

Then follow up with your doctor.  This isn't herpes.
