oral sex causing herpes of throat

Had oral sex with another man recently. Three days later I got a fever blister (cold sore) on my lip. It went away by using campho-phenique. Now a week later some things that look like red warts have appeared on the back of my throat. What could they be?

you need to see your provider to find out what is going on.  If you had contracted hsv2 orally - it wouldn't show up with symptoms like that.

What other possibilities could they be?

It could be infection, it could be an allergic reaction. It could be polyps. It doesn' t sound like herpes and it's not likely to be hpv either. following up is the best course of action.

Thank you for your care, concern, and advice. I will try to find a physician (NYC) to follow up on this. Is syphyllis a possibility here? Thanks again!

Syphilis sores wouldn't appear this fast.  It would usually appear within a month of exposure, and you'd get one sore that lasted at least a couple of weeks, but it wouldn't recur.

If this is syphilis, its not from this encounter, but it doesn't sound like syphilis.

You really should get checked by your doc.
