injury of kidney or bladder

I took a hard fall and after a week but legs and feet are swelling and I have the urge to urinate but I have to sit a few min. before they act. I have been xrayed and may have a broke rib, but the swelling or trouble urinating plus other symptoms did not start until yesterday and I fell a week ago. Could I have damaged or bruised a kidney or bladder by falling?

You could have hit your kidney but if you did that hard you would probably be peeing blood. Did the docs say what your kidney function was?
