Jan above is SO right. Find another doctor today. My mom died of ovca age 51. Mine was diagnosed at age 46. For a doctor to tell you not to worry about a familyBirth control and family planning Choosing a primary care provider Ewing’s sarcoma Family troubles - resources history is irresponsible. It does not mean that you will get it, but it does mean that you need to be much more vigilant in your care. An appointment with a gyn/oncologist is a good way to go. Good luck to you. You are probably just fine, but probably is not good enough. Keep fighting until you are satisfied you have been given the best of care, and have the answers you need to ease your mind. Marie
You are definitely not crazy. Ovarian cysts can cause these symptoms and you are right they can also be symptoms of cancer, but try not to worry as most times cyst turn out to be benign. But....you definitely need to go and see a Gynecologist and have your symptoms properly investigated. You do have a slightly higher risk if it is in your maternal family.
Try not to worry but do go and see a specialist as soon as possible.
Keep us posted and good luck.
Peace and Love...kim
While it is true that 99% of cysts are benign, with your history you need to be extra sure. Find a really good gyno and take it from there. DO NOT stop until you find an answer. I don't want you to be yet another one who didn't find out early that there was a problem, if there is one. Good luck and KEEP FIGHTING FOR YOU. Oh, another thing someone on here says alot but I haven't seen her lately, tell the Dr to prove to you that you don't have ovarian cancer. Or as my friend told her Dr., "do you want to find out what is wrong with me or should I let another Dr find out what is wrong with me so he can testify against you in court".
