my mom just ended up in the hospital for doubling up on her ambien.  sroke-like symptoms.there is melatonin, valerian root-lots of things for sleep. look in the amino acid and thomas recipe pages. For me, lavendar essential oil in the tub and in my lotion after the  tub works. Ask at the health food store too- there are plenty of things to try...

how many norco are you down to right now? You may want to just quit c/t now and get the worst of it overwith rather than prolonging the agony of w/ds..You will feel bad for a week but then it will be better. You will still struggle with sleep issues for a little while. But as toomanytimes stated..you can try natural things such as melatonin etc..Please don't take anymore ambien. I have seen alot of posts about people trying to get off those things too.

I to had serious problems with sleep when I got off methadone, I dont think I slept but 1 hour per night for about 3 weeks, but that all changed once my doctor put me on trazadone, now I sleep around 6 hours per night. Be careful with the ambien as in the long run it can make things worse, my friend from work was on ambien for a short while & when she stopped taking it her sleep problems came back but were worse. You can try melatonin it may work for you? It didnt for me, but that doesnt mean it wont for you.

If ambien is not working at the dose prescribed then it will probably not work for you.....many use benzos for sleep during this period..like valium..for a very short period...there are otc things like melatonin and valerian that can help as well...keep posting,....best to ask ur doctor and try something else

Ambien doesn't work for everyone. For some it will have the opposite effect. Also the max dose is 10mg so I would be really careful with that.
