A Very Sad Mother's Day

by Rena705, May 12, 2008 11:41AM
Two brothers that just happen to be our best friends, lost their Mother yesterday after a courageous battle with cancer.  She was 73 years old and one brother had just moved back to Newfoundland from Alberta to be with her and look after her and the other brother was able to get back there 1 week before her passing.  It is going to be really hard on these two fellas...they absolutely adored their Mother and Mother's Day will always be a reminder now of her passing.  Again, we are too far away to help ease their pain and my hubby and I are feeling very frustrated!  Between his Grandmother nearly dying in the last few weeks, then we lost a good friend in a tragic suicide and last week my husbands cousin's cousin apparently slipped and fell off of a cliff to his death in the Atlantic Ocean and now this!

It is a blessing that Gran is doing great and has come through her internal bleeding and vicious cut on her leg with flying colors and she is out of hospital and doing great!  She is 94 years old!  She is cut from some tough cloth...she always bounces back thank goodness!

The people of Newfoundland tend to be very superstitious and they always say that death happens in three's...well I hope that this is our three and the black shroud of death is leaving this family for a while...I don't know how much more sadness and depression we can take to be honest with you...it's always the ones left behind that suffer the most.  Thank you for letting me vent...the tears are almost all gone I think...
