Severe Eye Pain w/ movement and red veins

I have been having sever throbbing eye pain in my right eye. When I move my eye around its a stabbing pain on motion and when I try to focus on something close to me - its the same stabbing pain. Also the veins in my eye are now deep red and stand out. I have been to multiple doctors and have had head CTs but no one seems to know what is wrong - They keep sending me home with pain killers. Next I am going to a neurologist to have an MRI. This has been going on for 3 weeks with no relief from the pain. Any clues to what could be going on? Im extremly nervous.
