am I addicted

by jody305, May 12, 2008 12:46PM
I take diphenhydramine , I take between 300mgs to 600 mgs a night, Latley I've been scared that I'm going to overdose but when I don't take then the headache starts and then my muscles start to hurt and I feel like a have the flu but as soon as I take some more the pain in my body goes away
Does this mean I'm addicted?

Hi jody305, how are you? Well, you seem to have tension headache and myalgia which can be worsened by stress and increased activities of daily living. How about your blood pressure? It is better you get a complete check up done by your family physician and undergo any possible investigations so that you can discuss in detail the plan of care to get rid of your symptoms. Going with self-medication can be harmful without supervision. It is also better to consult a neurologist and get evaluated. Try to relax and do regular exercises and have adequate sleep. Over the counter pain medicine with a muscle relaxant is better option till you get evaluated. Take care and share your thoughts.
