What is wrong with me? Please Respond

Hi,

I have been having pain for almost 7 weeks now and no one can tell me what is wrong. I have pain in my lower left from my belly button down. It is pretty much a constant pain, it hurts more when I press on it and if I lay on it. I get sharp pains in a couple of spots, one is right below my bellybutton about an inch down and the other is really low where I'm told my ovaries are. I had a CT scan and they found nothing. I have no diarrhea, although I did when this first started and was told I had a bowel infection. I'm not constipated, no nausea, no loss of appetite or weight. It hurts more when I move around or pick up something heavy. I am going to the gyno on Wednesday as I was told to either go to the gyno or a gastro dr. The pain isn't as bad as it was when I supposedly had a bowel infection, but it seems more spread out now in my lower left abdomen and sometimes in my lower back I get achy pain. My periods have always sucked. I get really bad cramps and I also get cramps in my lower back. I usually have to stay in bed or sitting down for 2-3 days of my period. Taking 4 advil every 4 hours barely even makes a dent in my pain anymore. I noticed that right before this started my period pain seemed even worse then usual on my left side and then a few days later is when my sharp pains started and I was told I had a bowel infection due to the pain and my diarrhea. The pain started to get a little better and then started up pretty bad again around my period starting. This really sharp pain started out of nowhere. I was exercising and I got it all of a sudden and it's been 7 weeks and I've been to the Dr 4 times. Is it possible that this is a cyst? My friend had a cyst and said this is the type of symptoms she had. Is it possible if I do have one it may of not showed up on my CT Scans? I'm going to ask the gyno to run blood tests and see if she feels any cysts on my ovaries during exam. Is there anything else I should have her look out for? Thank you for your help.

Hello,

Seeing the gynecologist should have been quite helpful.  A pelvic ultrasound would be better than a CT to assess the tubes and ovaries--I hope that has been done or is in the works.  Your symptoms may be gyn related, gastro-intestinal or urologic.  Follow up with your gyn and hopefully the possible causes can be narrowed down.

Best regards,

Dr. Downing

I forgot to mention my last period was a week late and I'm never that late. I'm definetly not pregnant.

My dr did send me to have a pelvic as well as a transvaginal ultrasound yesterday. She also sent me to have a urinalysis and urine culture as she thinks I might have a bladder infection. I'll know my results next week. I just hope I find something out so I don't have to go to anymore dr's. I don't have insurance and this is costing me an arm and a leg. I've spent near $2000.00 now :( I really think it might have something to do with my bladder as yesterday when I did my ultrasound and had to hold my urine for a little over an hour after drinking 36 oz my lower abdomen hurt and so did my lower back. Would that be the cause of that kind of pain, my bladder? Thank you for responding.
