need help

by soSO_nervous, May 12, 2008 01:32PM
hi all... this is the first time i actually ask a question, but i am always reading everyone's advice.. Now i need help... Im pregnant for the second time around, i had a natural miscarriage first pregnancy. Now im 6 weeks and 4days pregnant, im so exited but also extremely nervous.
i had my secomd u/s yesterday, the sac was seen and so was the yolk.. But no baby!!
the dr was telling me that its normal but she was also telling me that she should've seen it. She booked me for another u/s on the 25/05, im so so nervous, im also scared i dont want to go through a miscarriage again, i was depressed for weeks after and still feel the pain at times.. Please help me... Is this normal, or is the dr just scaring me?

Hello,

Try to hang in there.  Hopefully, you'll have good news on the 25th.

Best,

Are you counting 6 weeks from ovulation or from your last period?  If from your last period, it may be too early to see baby. My doctor's office won't do that first ultrasound until a minimum of 8 weeks from LMP, for this reason. Best wishes.

It seems this comes up so often, and many times the outcome is just fine.  I second what Tahariel said, that is why many Dr.s don't do u/s until 8 weeks.  Try to stay positive, your next u/s will give you answers.  I know the wait is horrible, I have been there, but all you can do is try not to be too stressed out.  I wish you all the best.
