high myopia

by avrajan, May 12, 2008 02:22PM
I am a 36 year old male. high myopic with -15 in right and -20 in left eye. Floaters are blurring my vision. I understand that my vision is weakening in the left eye. I'm worried. With my job requiring working on computers for atleast 7 hours advise me :

1. what should i do to take care of my eyes.
2. any cause for concern because my whole career is in front of me.

Kindly advise.

Have your eyes examined yearly by a Eye MD ophthalmologist. Live a healthy lifestyle. Don't smoke.

Computers do not damage the eye, wear it out, cause disease or make your glasses thicker.

As an extreme myope myself, I'd recommend that you receive a thorough examination by a retinal specialist at least once a year in addition to your regular exams by your ophthalmologist.  There are several problems that can develop when your eyeball is so elongated - some of which can be better dealt with if detected early.
