aniridia

Is aniridia hereditary?  Can other eye problems be caused by it.  I have one son that was born with it and one daughter and three grandchildren that have other eye problems that they could have been born with.
A type of lazy eye except it is nerve not muscle damage. My son I had given up for adoption at birth that I have just been reunited with. He is 43 years old.  Any answers you can give me I will appreciate.

Aniridia can be herediary however it doesn't mean that everyone related by blood to an individual with the problem 'will get it".

This is a great reference read it completely.
