Itching penis and testicles

by socal1234, May 12, 2008 03:15PM
I went to my DR years ago and his intial diagnosis was a yeast infection.  He prescribed to me Nystatin and Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream.  I used it and it seemed to control the itching but never made it go away.  I eventually went to a dermatologist and he presribed to me Cordran Lotion and 200 MG of Fluconazole tablets.  They both seem to control the problem but again, does not make it go away.  Any ideas?

If it hasn't gone away in years, you need further testing.

Ask your doc to do an endocervical culture, and see what grows.

Oh and you might also think about what you are using for toilet paper, soap, detergent, etc.  If anything is scented, stop using it immediately.

If you aren't wearing 100% cotton undies, you might get some new panties.  You might be having an allergic reaction to something.

To come to think of it, I have been using ALL free detergent but recently moved and use my roommates detergent which is scented.

But, yes, I have had this recurring problem since 03.

Is endocervical culture test for female only?

by auntiejessi, May 12, 2008 11:58PM
Yes.  It takes secretions from the vagina and cervix, and only women have a cervix.

OK, but I am a male.

Ohhh sorry.  My bad.  You said yeast, and I assumed female.

Is your itching inside or out?  If its inside, ask for prostate exams and a urine test.

You should still follow up on this.  You shouldn't have symptoms this long.

Outside.

Then you need to follow up with your doc.  Maybe you need to see a dermatologist.

Good luck.
