Could i have Endometriosis?

by Tasha89, May 12, 2008 05:53PM
I'm 18 and i always suffered from heavy long periods and strong period pain for 2 years so i went on the contraceptive pill then they found out i was severly anaemic from lack of iron, more than likely from my heavy bleeding for 2 year and my body couldn't keep up and since i have a high metabolism and i'm very slim.
Anyways, i went on the pill last november, it finally kicked in in february and it's been great until last month.  Last month about a week before my period i got strong ovulation pain that last until 2 days after which was so odd and then i got breakthrough bleeding for about 4 days.
This month (a few weeks ago now) i got the same ovulation pain 10 days before! And that last for 2 days then i woke up and the pain had moved higher up into my abdominal area and was killing me! I was constipated, bloated, nauseous, weak, i had a bit of lower back pain. But that died off after a few painful days and the pain seemed to of spreaded into random areas of my abdominal area and where the pain was it would be really achy and the pain was sharp. That yet again died down and when i actually came on my period i got strong lower back pain especially in my
left side and ovulation pain yet again and top leg pain inculding the abdominal pain, constipation etc. When i came off everything calmed down but i still got strong back pain and lower back pain. Ever sinceit's been off and one, still got the back pain and leg pain and the occasional random abdominal pain in different areas, the bloatedness and slight constipation (nothing like it was though), i also get funny feelings around my anus area and i do pass gas a bit more but nothing serious.
I know Endo can go to your rectum area but my stools have been normal meaning no blood or nothing or no pain when i do pass, but i am slightly constipated.
Can Endo make you pass gas a bit more if it's affecting your bowel/rectum area?
I do have problems eating my tea sometimes, i feel full and get abdominal pain so i don't know if the Endo could be doing this.
Sorry this is soooo long!
I'm just really confused, it's just so many different random symtoms but not the obvious ones.
Maybe i did have Endo but when i went on the pill it helped and went for a while, but now my body is used to the pill it's all coming back but differently.
Could i have Endometriosis?
Or something else?
Any questions you wanna ask?
Thankyou!!!!!! x

Thanks for replying :)
Yeah people keep saying to me it sounds like Endo, i'm going to the doctors this friday finally.
At the moment i've got lower back pain/top leg pain and ovulation pain every now again.
Do you have Endo then? Where was yours? Did they find any on your Bowels?
I don't know what else it could be really, i haven't got servere pain or constant pain in one area it changes all the time.
My mum won't take me seriously though :/
Could i have Cysts on my Ovary? I get sharp kinda pressure pain on my left one, it's a strange pain so i don't know if i could get them.
So basically my Pill is not working properly :|

Anytime well i have had it since i was about 16/17 used to get pains during my periods and in between and i just used to think i suffered from period pain until i found a doctor that took me seriously she did an internal which was painful and then they refered me to a gyno straight away and they did a scan on my tummy to see if they could spot anything which they did, cysts i then had a internal again where they took swabs to test they said it looked like i had endo but they couldnt be sure until they did keyhole surgery and when they did they found the endo and a cyst on my right ovary endo are lumps/adhesions that grow full of blood and because they grow outside the lining of your womb these blood adhesions can't release the blood cause it has no where to go that is what causes all the the pain they do laser the endo off but it will grow back within 6 +months as its not curable. i still get my symptoms they dont go away completely but they have improved i get throbbing pain on my my left&right ovarys and i get severe period pain which are heavy, fever, sickness, lower back pain, leg pain, fatigue, bowel pain, painful sex the list goes on but i dont get them all at once normally a few at a time or one even depends so make sure when you see your doctor they refer you to a gyno i suffered far to long and it got worse i mean it effects your fertilty as well so i might have no problem getting pregnant or it might take me some time depending on how severe the endo is and where it is my case was moderate but it may get worse they can't give you straight answers as its such a unpredictable chronic disease when went i into hospital i was talking to a lady there which was having her 7th laser surgery!. so its best to be safe than sorry and ignore it as it wont go away i hope you feel better soon and get this sorted to be on the safe side and dont worry about your mum's opinion only you can be the judge of this know one else has a clue unless they have endo as to how much pain this causes physically, mentally & emotionally do whats best keep me posted take care bex :-) x

Just about the same here - It does sound like endo:
I've had 4 laps done for endo now - It took me almost 8 years to get diagnosed with it :( The first lap I had severe endo with a cyst, and adhesions. Second about 7 months later - had more endo and a large endometrioma on my right ovary, they had to remove 1/2 of that ovary although it is still mostly functional. Third lap was Feb 2006 - more endo another cyst, and finally the 4th lap was this past January - more endo a small cyst and there was an adhesion that had glued my right ovary to my right tube... So they cut the adhesion.

Endo is a horrible disease - especially for someone who is young. The only "cure" is a complete hysterectomy :( I had major symptoms - HEAVY periods, large blood clots, very painful intercourse, nauseated during intercourse, bowel
