too much protien in urine

my 5 years old had a routie phy. done and complian that my son growth sperth is slow and it not where he should be then the doctor notice too much protien in his urine was test 3 x more for 3 days now the dr. call me and said his urine is elavated now i have to do 24 hour urine blood work and sonogram! please explian to me what is he have?

Hi, did your son have any chest/throat infection or fever before the protein appeared?
