This sounds like an infection. Did you scratch the area? Was the area itchy prior to the onset of this condition?
At this point, I do not think this is melanoma. With regards to the mole was this present for quite some time?
Was the mole flat or elevated? Are the edges well defined and was there any abrupt change in size?
A melanoma is diagnosed through clinical examination and a biopsy or histopath examination of the mole. I suggest you have this assessed by your physician. It is important to have the infection treated first. If there is associated itchiness, then an antihistamine may be given to alleviate the itchiness.
