by veggiepunk1363, May 12, 2008 11:40PM
Hi, for the second time it about 5 weeks I have had a bad back ache in my lower spine. I havent changed anything about my daily activities, it just started hurting, the first time it happened I notice it when i first woke up so I thought I slept wrong, but today about 4th period it started hurting and has gotten more and more painful. I did go to a theme park yesterday, so I did some extra walking, but this is only the second occurence so I'm not sure if it is due to my c.p or what. any ideas?

Hi veggiepunk,

How are you? Was there any recurrence of the backpain? In general, children with cerebral palsy exhibit a wide variety of signs and symptoms, ranging from mild to severe. Cerebral palsy symptoms don't worsen with age. They may include: lack of muscle coordination when performing voluntary movements, stiff muscles and exaggerated reflexes, asymmetrical walking gait (with one foot or leg dragging), variations in muscle tone, tremors and difficulty with precise motions, such as writing or buttoning a shirt.

However, if the pain worsens you visit your doctor so proper evaluation and management can be done. You can learn more about this through this link: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/cerebral-palsy/DS00302/DSECTION=2

I hope this helps. Take care and keep me posted.
