Herpes?

by kollegekid324, May 13, 2008 10:20AM
I recently had unprotected sex with, what I just figured out, is a promiscuous girl.  The morning after, I noticed a small "abrasion" on the shaft of my penis.  It is the same color as my skin, not really red or anything.  Looks kind of like extra skin now, just barely raised up around the surrounding skin and only hurts if it brushes against something (feels sensitive).  Also, it nearly disappears when the penis becomes erect and can only be seen when the skin is wrinkled to one side.  Went to the doctor a few days later he said it was probably just from having too dry of sex and didn't look like herpes or anything to him.  It's now a week and a day later and it hasn't really gotten much better, and has become even more sensitive.  Is this possibly from me touching and examining it too much when i noticed it?  I have been trying to refrain from touching it for a few days now, still to no avail.  What could this be?  Should i get tested? How should i treat it?

herpes presents itself as clusters of blisters and there will be a tingling itch before the blisters form... it also takes longer than a few hours to get your 1st outbreak. What you're describing doesn't sound like herpes. Not saying you don't have or wont get herpes...just that this doesn't sound like it.You really need to leave it alone and quit touching it tho just in case it is something you caught from her. Besides, if it was herpes you could spread it by touching it and touching other parts of your body. The last thing you want is herpes in your eye!

This is a good warning to start wearing condoms tho...EVERY TIME!! Especially if you don't know your partner well or what their sexual past has been.

So the girl is promiscuous, but you're not? Interesting rationalization.

Ok it's now been 12 days since this "abrasion" came up and it hasn't changed at all.  The Doc called it an abrasion or lesion due to dry sex, but i don't know what to think.  There is no blisters or dry skin or anything around it, it is just kind of oval shaped and barely raised up around the surrounding skin.  It is still only visible when i pinch or wrinkle the skin together there, disappears when erect.  Could this just be something I have never noticed before and noticed it while examining?  Everything I read says that doctors usually misdiagnose herpes as something else.  Grace you have any input?  Would a herpes blood test be useful this early on?  Sorry to keep posting, I am just extremely worried.  Scared straight you could call it.

is it normal for an "abrasion" to take this long to heal?  Any more input please?

Let me be as subtle as possible .. You do NOT NOT NOT have herpes!!! Herpes does NOT show up the morning after sex!!! IMPOSSIBLE.. Forget the abrasion and move on with your life... You are staring way too much at your penis!! I know you are nervous about contracting herpes from this encounter but nothing you have said points to herpes so let it go!!!! :)

Thanks for the input slacker.  It just sucks you have to wait 3 months for testing and stress over it that long.  It was a stupid encounter on my part and I have learned a great deal about the problems sex can cause.

Do you want to know a reality Kollege? You will make the same mistake again since sex is a part of being human and the risks will always be ther and you will jump back into it and do it again!! You don't have herpes so I am not sure what you are even stressing about!!! Stop and move on... :)
