possible thyroid cancer

I have been seeing a doctor about the hard goiter on my neck.
It is a 3x2 cm. fixed solid mass on the right side.
All my blood tests have come back normal and I had a thyroid uptake and scan
and it also came back normal which according to him is not a good sign.
I have to now have an ultrasound and see a specialist.
Should I pretty much prepare myself for it being thyroid cancer as from my doctor's comments
it doesn't look good or could it be something else.
I am male by the way which is another bad sign.

Your next step should be an ultrasound, and then, if further testing is needed, an FNA, which often is more telling.
