I squeak

I have had various nervous ticks for the past 10 to 12 years and I am 28. Most of the time it is a noise i make by sucking in air quickly and tightening up my stomach which maked a bird or cat like squeaking sound. Some people think i have the hickups. I do it more when I am worked up about something or nervous or really excited.
I have a theory myself that it is to do with the fact that I want to suck in my fat stomach to keep it hanging out all the time and it makes me uptight. Im not but a few pounds over weight so it can't be health related. Im not sure though and it makes me sound like a freak.
If I try, I can stop doing it for a few minutes but as soon as I stop thinking about it, it stops. Also, it doesn't seem to bother me that much in the car.
Please help me find out what it is and if I need help or just need to live with it. Is it a form of Tourettes?

My 11 yr.old son has been squeaking for the past month. He has also had ticks for the past few years, but this one is the most annoying. I'd love to know what others say, because I'd like to check into medicine for them to stop. His classmates are telling him to be quiet, and it's starting to make him look odd. Thanks so much for sharing. I hope that you can find some help to stop your tic.
