I understand your worries. A consultation with a neurologist may indeed be warranted. Your neurologist will be able to perform a thorough neurologic evaluation and neurologic physical examination. Based on these examinations, the neurologist may be able to localize a possible problem whether in the brain or the spine. From here, he or she may request imaging studies like a brain scan or MRI, that would confirm or reinforce anything that she suspects. At this point, it is very early to jump to conclusions. I hope that your meeting with the neurologist will be fruitful and that everything will turn out OK.
