Flushing from acne medications???

by KarynElise857, May 13, 2008 07:30PM
Can acne oral medications cause flushing and facial redness? Will it go away after stopping medications? I have been off all medications for one month but I still flush really bad.

Yes they can, especially oral Isotretinoin. Which medicine were you taking?
The time it will take for this side effect to go away depends on which medicine you were taking. Isotretinoin has a long half life and it is not unusual to still experience redness one month after completing your course.
Use bland cleansers and moisturisers until this has passed. I recommend either Rosaliac or Toleriane by La Roche-Posay, or try Lutsine Hydrafnia or Eucerin. Loiloi x
