Try and gradually get used to being in the car, even while its stationery it will help, a friend of mine was in a traffic accident with a bus and i remember when i went to see her after she was checked over by the medics she was traumatised. Even though that was several years back i still remember her telling me that she would NEVER get in a car again. Well she gets driven everywhere now, if anything its made her more confident it the car.
Have you thought of getting some professional advice, about car accident etc, like going down to your local police traffic unit and since they are advanced drivers they could tell you the facts etc about crashes. They can also answer any of your questions that you might have for them!
Just take your time getting used to cars is there any other way for you to get to your appointments ? apart from the car.
Also you tried counselling or hypnotherapy ?
Might sound abit dramatic but it might just work for you!
Again hope you feel better
and Take Care
