My Menstrual cramps are so painful

I have an irregular menstrual cycle and whenever I have my period, my cramps are so painful they put me in tears and I can barely move.  Is this normal?

My friend has had menstrual cramps so bad that she could not move or go to school. Once she almost passed out from them, this is not regular.

Her mom had them too and after her two daughters were born, she had to have her babymakers taken out. :/

I'm not sure what it's called, but if it persists you should go see a doctor and have them check it out. I wish I could tell you what I think it is, but I don't remember the name.
