Make sure your doctor knows about your PVC's. I think they use conscious sedation for the colonoscopy which is different than full out anesthesia. Maybe no problem at all.

I was having thousands of PVCs/day and had a colonscopy and a GYN procedure. Both procedures required some type of sedation (versed for the colonscopy and propofol for the GYN procedure). Both doctors said I had no problems with PVCs during the time I was sedated. Seems that the anes. works to quiet the palps : )
Boy, can I relate. I was scared to deathDiscussing death with children Gangrene Liver cell death Loss of a child - resources Sudden infant death syndrome to have my colonoscopy last September. I came to this board for reassurance.
I was so scared that I chose NOT to be sedated. I got through the entire procedure with no pvc's and no sedation. I did mention to my doctor that I had pvc's and PAT and he was not in the least worried. By the way, they use versed and fentanyl and from what I am told these have no affect whatsoever on pvc's. You will be fine!!! The prep was no problem either. I took the pills instead of the drink. No problems with pvc's.
