Will Paps determine Warts?

by NeedHelp14, May 15, 2008 08:26AM
I have been diagonise with gential warts. I have had intercourse only with my one partner in the last 5 years. They say you could have the HPV virus for a while before an actual wart breakout. Obviously, I contracted it from her. Is it possible that if she goes and gets a paps that she will NOT show or have any signs of the HPV?

Yes, its possible, if her HPV infection isn't active at the time of the test.

Does it matter?  You either gave it to her or she gave it to you.  Does it matter at this point?

And no, its not obvious that you got it from her.  If she had more recent partners than you, then its likely, but HPV is one of those that has no set parameters, so you might never know.
