Anybody use Prevacid SOLU-TBS? If so what is your co-pay .. mine was $75 ...

and I was [[[ shocked ]]] at that .. it retails for over $300 /month!!!  So why did they take Prevacid Packets off the shelf I ask .. grrrrrrrrrrr .. my co pay was $35/mo!  It is helpful to have a quick melt or packet to mix for kids who aren't able to swallow a pill .. and the taste for an older child is awful if compounded (tastes like salt even with flavor bcz of the saccharine like products in it).

Just was curious.

I guess the other option are capsules of prevacid and open and sprinkle on something.

Jarrett was put on the Solu tabs about 2 years ago and I believe our copay was about the same.  I about freaked. Thank goodness we were able to switch back to the "preferred" drug and now Prilosec only costs us $10 for 3 months worth.

Ours went up to. I don't remember what it was but our share is like 70%. Prilosec OTC is now covered 100%. We have switched to that for me and Gary Will and it seems to be working. When he was a baby he had side affects with Prilosec so we stopped it but he doesn't appear to have them now.

Well the Pedi GI actually said the prevacid may have added to her constipation issues!  So we are lucky no long-term usage and my oldest only uses it 1-2X a month so I may just bite the bullet and get a larger script for 2X day and go from there to keep me stocked for the future ....

I have this one too for Cameron, he really likes it though, it's a strawberry flavor, kinda yummy.  I know, I had to try it.  I pay $27 / month and I know that's pretty cheap.  I get samples from the Dr. too when they bump him up to 2 times a day.  I guess the other meds he takes are spendy too, we pay over $100 / month for his regular meds, and a couple are only $5.  Ask your nurse about samples, and on the backs of them are rebates, you get up to $25 back, but it takes a little bit of the sting away.
