I had a transvaginal ultrasound yesterday and I'm about 6weeks, there was no heartbeat. The doctor said if there is no heartbeat next week , we'll have to talk about a D&C? The baby has grown since last week, and from reading the other postings I'm starting to think I should wait for another ultrasound till I'm 9 or 10 weeks...If others had a heartbeat at those weeks? what do ya'll think?

At 6 weeks, 3 days we could only see the sac and embryo. A week later we were able to see the HB. Hopefully you will see the HB at your next u/s, but if not, I would ask for at least one more the following week. There's no need to hurry with the D&C until you're ready. And actually, it really sucks that you're worrying about this!! It's not uncommon to not see a HB at 6 weeks.

Wait longer. I was 6.5 weeks and got lucky to see the heartbeat. My doc said not to worry if we didn't. Sometimes it's too soon.

They should be doing an HCG screening on you - if they have not ask them to start - it is bloodwork every other day for at least a week, pref more.

They told me I was 8 weeks and did not have a HB, that was according to blood test in the ER. went to my doctor and he told me I was only 5 weeks and it is too early to see HB. we had another U/S the following week, and the baby was biigger but still no HB, the doctor was not concerned. We had anothe one a week later and we saw the little HB. I would suggest to wait.

I've actually decided to change doctor, because his being nothing but negative. I couldn't get in to another doctor till July, so I'm gong back for one last ultrasound with my current doctor, but till June 5th where I will be at least 2mths and a week and hopefully I'll see my baby's HB. Again thanks for everyone for being so helpful
