milk

my baby is 5 months old and has always been a bit picky with his milk, the last week he is only taking 3-4oz every 4 hours, today he only drank 15oz from 5:30am - 7:00pm and that was hard work trying to get him to drink that, i have tried lots, changed the type of bottle, different tempertures, he seems to take the milk slightly better by drinking it out of a bottle without a teat.
he has been having breakfast with his milk for about 4 weeks, and having an evening meal of puree vegtables, my health vistior advised me to add an extra meal and give him lunch and not to worry.
i would just like to know if my baby will ok without getting lots of milk, he is a really happy baby, and it doesnt seem to bother him. what should i do?

Infants need formula to grow their bones and development of their body. They do not go on regular milk until they are 1 years old so there really is no substitute for formula at this age except another type of formula. Maybe try another formula type. At 5 months old your son really needs formula for the nutrients.
