I posted another question here a few weeks back about the possibility of me being prengant even though i had two pregnant tests come up negative and had recently stopped taking birth control resulting in an irregular period and missing a few months. As suggested and knowing that I should I made a doctoros appointment.

First of all they messed up my whole appointment saying I was supose to be there two weeks ago and that I was coming in for a follow pap, they were nice enough to squeeze me into the scheduling. I told the nurse it was because my period was irregular and how i had stopped taken birth control in August she says that could be very what it was.

So then I see the actual doctor he once again refers back to the follow up pap and I correct that part of the situation again, when he came in to the room he felt my neck, had me close my eyes and hold my hands out in front me of for a few minutues, did the pap test and then after I sat up had me follow his finger up and down. I'm young, but what was the point in that? He continued to say they would have some blood work done to check for thyroid and a few other things, on the paper he did mark a pregnancy test but never once asked when was the last time I had intercourse or anything else relating to the situation. I brought up how stopping birth control could've cause my irregularity he snickered at me and said that isn't what is causing my irregularity.  He went on to say about how if everything comes back fine we should discuss birth control, I am completely against this option, and voiced that today but I feel that he is going to persist and it is going to lead me to finding a new doctor..if that be the case it will be the 4th change in the last 3 years.

Along with any other comments or suggestions, is there any one by chance if I were pregnant he might have been able to tell by the routine exam and didn't share the information instead just order the blood test?  I really don't think I am, i'd be 4 months no symptons, 2 negative tests that were taken if i were at 3months and I haven't gained one ounce of weight i'm at my moral 95lbs, only 5'3 I've always been really small. I know I am probably just worrying over nothing, but I figured I'd ask and maybe get a response..
thanks, oh and my next appointment is in two weeks to go over the lab work.

If he gave you a pap he would of been able to tell if you were pregnant or not. During pregnancy there is increase blood supply down there which causes your cervix to turn blue. Also, he may have put his hands on your stomach to feel where your uterus is and if it felt bigger than it should have he most likely would of said something.

Thyroid issues do mess up your period.  And I totally agree with your doctor, stopping bc should not be the reason why your menses are screwed up.  Just get all of the tests that he's telling you because if you have thyroid issues you need that  corrected soon.  Do a search on hyperthyroid

Well, I do think that going off of the pill can cause your period to get a little messed up.  Those pills put lots of hormones in your body, so it can take time to get all of those hormones out of your body and to get back to normal.  It happened to me in the past.  But thyroid problems can also cause your period to be irregular.
