I have posted questions before here...i am a 23 year old male and i have been suffering from just about all the anxiety symptoms for about 5 months now and i need some input! lately i have noticed a strange vision/dizziness feeling! Sometimes i focus on just talking to somebody and i just start to feel strange! I have been having all kinds of thoughts like what if it is a brain tumor! I have had some confusion and just all around feeling weird the last couple days! Keep in mind my symptoms have been changing sporadically! It used to be constant heart palpitations and dizziness, then it went to headaches for 2 weeks straight and shooting pains in my chest and stomach region! So that is making me feel better like this vision stuff and not being able to focus on things in my sight is just a stress/anxiety evolution per say! My mom does say symptoms can change quite a bit, which my mom used to have constant fear that something was wrong with her too! My sister also battled with anxiety for awhile! I did find some kind of sebacious cyst on my head 2 weeks ago and that has concerned me like what if it is cancer! But im only 23 years old you know? I dont have insurance or money to really get my head checked out or an MRI or anything! ANY advice would be good, like if anyone has had the vision and dizziness problems because i look up the symptoms of brain tumor or cancer and i have some of the symptoms like headaches, and distorted vision! I just hope this is all just a part of my anxiety issues! Thank you so much for reading this!

if you suffer from anxiety the worse thing you can do at times is go read up on medical conditions. Think we have done that one and came away the worst for it. First things first. A hospital checkup. Chances are everything will be negative with the tests they will do. Would that ease your mind any? To know that it was only anxiety. We tend to look for more symptoms. Comes with the turf. But headaches, blurred vision and the likes can all be just anxiety related. That's why the hospital comes first. Then from there you begin to work on the knowledge that it is all in the head. The symptoms are real. Don't get me wrong there. But you can then seek help for psychological problems, once you rule out physical. Never give up though. Keep on fighting. And keep us up-dated.

What you are explaining is VERY common among anxiety sufferers...I myself have had it numerous times.  It's called de-realization (where things do not appear "right" or real...or as if you are looking at a movie instead of through your eyes).  You just want to bop your head and make it go away!

When I first experienced it...I went to NUMEROUS eye docs INSISTING there was something wrong with my eyes!  It's a very odd feeling, and one we are very aware of.

The good news is...once you start treating the anxiety...it will subside.  For me, it took several weeks.  For tthers, it goes away faster, and still others, it takes a bit longer.

Have you sought ANY type of treatment for your anxiety yet?  It sounds like you are suffering quite badly.  I would recommend seeking professional help...the sooner the better.  If you are open to meds...talk to your family doc who can point you in the right direction when it comes to therapy...and maybe prescribe medication.  There are a lot of different treatments out there for anxiety....with MANY success stories.  Read my journal if you get a chance.

You ARE young, like you said....and it's time to start learning how to move on...and get through this.  Just know you are far from alone...soooo many of us have and are going through the same thing.

The eye thing is irritating...but it comepletely harmless, I promise you.  It's basically a result of us becoming super sensitized to sights, sounds, smells, etc.

Keep posting and let us know how you're doing, okay?

Hi hun, MrGreen is right in his advice to stop yourself from googling your symptoms.  That will just scare you.

I have vision problems too.  My eyes feel very scratchy and dry all the time and my forehead is very tense in between my eyes which leads to a constant headache.  These symptoms make me feel a little unsteady.  It doesn't seem to matter how much sleep I get either.  My eyes always feel like this.  I posted earlier that I went to see my Mom yesterday.  I feel a little odd being away from my house, but other than that, I'm perfectly comfortable around her.  We're sitting in the living room having a nice talk when suddenly I feel dizzy, like I'm going down a roller coaster.  When this happens I just pause, take a breath, then continue talking like nothing has happened.  I've felt this way most of my life and I've learned that the more I focus on whatever symptom is bothering me at the moment the more it effects me so I've learned to just ignore them.

Your Mom is right.  Symptoms come and go and so will this one.

Thinking of you.....

I have had and still have, at times, every symptom you have mentioned.  And, like you, I googled every single one of them many times over.STOP!!!!!!  It does nothing but make it worse, as others have mentioned above.
I am also 23 and I have dealt with anxiety and panic attacks my whole life.  My life is currently on hold due to a very bad period and way too many doctors appoinments.  I didn't want to accept that it was anxiety because anxiety just doesn't register as a condition that could affect you so strongly but IT CAN!!
When you think certain thoughts your brain releases certain chemicals that cause you to feel anxious and, if not stopped, your symptoms intensify.  The trick is to stop them where they start to avoid the further release of these chemicals.  The more you focus the worse you will feel.  And we all know how hard that is...I'm just starting to realize it...but try ignoring it and do something that you enjoy or relaxes you.  Exercise is always good because it release endorphins(might have spelt it wrong) and it is a chemical that makes you feel good.
You won't feel better overnight so stop putting that pressure on yourself and just take it a day at a time.  If you think you need to speak to someone or that medication is right for you then, by all means, do what you feel is right for you.
I hope that helped, at least, a little.  You can write me anytime.
Take care.
