if you are being treated for hepatitis with interferon, it can give you thyroid problems, and it can make them worse if you have them.

So, if you need treated for a thyroid problem, you can be treated. But if you then take interferon, it will make your thyroid problem worse.

I'm not sure if there are other drugs that treat HCV.
I don't know much about HCV and how it's drugs interact with thyroid medications.

I'm a 51 year old contractor living in Iowa. I have had severe thyroid problems for two years and I am unable to work. I had RAI, RadioActive Iodine therapy in January to kill my thyroid because it could not be controlled with medication. I am waiting for it to die so that my medication dosage will stop changing.
