Do I need to see a doc?

by kalikie, May 16, 2008 05:44PM
Hey,

I'm a 24 year old white female living in North Carolina.  For the past week or so I've been having some symptoms and I can't seem to figure out if I need to see a doc.  I'm a PT student and sometimes too much knowledge is a bad thing.  I've been reading a lot about MS, ALS, and Benign fasciculation Syndrome, and I've read a lot of posts of people who have similar but not exact symptoms.  Here are mine:

1. It started as widespread twitches in most skeletal muscles. Approximately 5/hr.
2. Some light tingling/pins and needles. I've experienced it in my hands, feet, face, tongue.  Each episode only lasts a few minutes, but enough to add to my worries. (I don't know if i'm just being overly attentive to my sensations that I would normally not notice)
3. Deep aching in back of the knees and forearms (Forearms seems like mild acute cubital tunnel, but I don't know since it is in the midst of these other symptoms.)
4. Some Tinnitus.  It will come on all of a sudden and last for 5-10 seconds then go away. I've always had this but again its coinciding with the previous symptoms and seems to be more frequent. (~5 times since symptoms began).
5. I've had premature ventricular contractions in the past. They have not been acting up recently but I thought this might help.  The doctor only could attribute it to stress although I don't find myself to be a very stressful person.

- No cramping
- No weakness that I can perceive
- I have not had a cold or any other virus since the fall.

Of course I am having some anxiety over this. Any comments would help! Thanks!
