Graduation

by K1990, May 16, 2008 11:32PM
So I was supposed to graduate from high school in 2 weeks but I got my GED a month before I turned 17 (over a year ago).  The last few weeks I have felt like I missed out on so much, I don't get to graduate, I wont have a high school reuinion or any of that.  I didn't have a senior year and was only able to go to about 2 weeks of my junior year due to health problems and I feel like I have really missed out on so much.  I wouldn't be where I am now if i didn't do what I did, and I love being a year ahead in school and being with the love of my life but it's just hard seeing my best friend in her cap and gown and I wont have that for another 3 years when I graduate from college.... I'm just having a hard time, I know it's too late but will I get over it?

If you made the decision consciously and with your heart then stick to it and don't look back.  Congratulate your friend and go cheer with the crowd and don't forget you are part of that too!  Just because you graduated early doesn't mean you are not part of the group.  You should be proud that you got out early and are going to college!  Whatever your reasons... don't look back.  Enjoy life.  In the long run, walking down that aisle and getting that piece of paper are not that important.
