PAPs test now?

I was dignosed with HPV.  I told my girl friend who just started a new job.  Her insurance doesn't kick in until 3 months.  She generally has a PAPs every 6 months.  How safe is it to wait or should she just request the HPV cervical test without doing the entire test since we'll have to pay for it out of pocket.

Presuming you are male and have HPV that causes visible genital warts, you can rest assured that the type of HPV you may have given her/share with her does not lead to cervical cell changes/cervical cancer.  Still, it is always possible to carry multiple strains of HPV or have warts internally she may not be aware of so keeping up with paps is advisable.  If you live in the states, she should go to a Planned Parenthood health center.  They will charge her very little or nothing at all to have a pap smear/be examined.  Go to www.plannedparenthood.com to find a health center near you.
