nerve sensitivity after crown

why would the temp crown be o.k no sensitivity but when the permanent crown is put on it is sensitive when i floss up on top of the crown...I have the temp back on and dentist wants me to have a root canal.i have tried 2 permanents now

If sensitive to floss, it may be associated with tight contact, assuming the same problem does'nt exist while temporary one was on.If sensitive to temperautre and chewing,  occlusal interference may be the culprit. More occlusal adjustment is advised.
