Will my pain cease over time?

by danj, May 18, 2008 12:04AM
About 5 months ago my penis took a slight trauma whilst erect, there was no pain immeddiately but after about 2 days or so in noticed a discomfort on the left side, my penis has always been bent to the left slightly when erect, all along the left shaft there is a constant burning, this is most prominent when flaccid, when erect it seems to be less painful. i have not seen a doctor as of yet, but have been hoping that it will heal, it is usually not quite so painful in the morning when i am in bed, but but during the day it becomes more painful, there have been times when i could not sit still because of the pain, and other times where it has been less painful or no pain at all for about 13 days (i counted them) and then the pain came back. on the outside there is no discolouration, but the penis shaft is curved to the left.
i do not feel i have peryones because my erections are not painful.

Please i would like to know if this pain will heal, i am only 29 and am begining to feel my life is ruined. what is the best way to help it heal.

thank you for listening.

Hi.

I understand your concern. At this point, this does not sound like a penile fracture. You may have slightly bruised the penile shaft hence the pain that you have noted. Without hematoma or discoloration and with the ability to maintain an erection, a penile fracture is unlikely.

I suggest that you have this assessed by a urologist so that a complete physical examination and assessment be done. You may take pain relievers for the pain and do note for any change in the appearance of the urine and ejaculate. A dark tea colored urine and a change in the color of the ejaculate may suggest an underlying infection or a more extensive injury.
