Salt retains fluid in our body, however, we do not need as much salt as we consume. As we lower the salt content in our diet, the fluid retention decrease and so does some weight. This is really water weight. You eat healthier foods with low salt diet. You have to decrease meats high in salt which usually do contain higher fat content too. There is a decrease on pre-packaged foods (very high salt levels) and an increase on eating fresher and low fat foods. Hope that answered your question.
