Hi, I have used Adjuvant! Online with the data you have provided and it says there that the 10 year over-all survival is 56% without further treatment. Additional 7% if she received standard chemotherapy (AC), or an additional 12.6% if she received 2nd generation chemotherapy with taxanes (Taxol or Taxotere).
Like my previous suggestion, radiation therapy can be an option. Hope this helps. Regards.
This forum is not monitored by a doctor that medhelp uses anyways. You can go to the other breast cancer forum here that is monitered by the doctor and ask your questions there. We only get 2 questions day so posting in the early morning would be good. Also have your pathology report with you and post him your results. Ask very descriptive details. The doctor there will only answer you 1 time. Another good place for breast cancer info is breastcancer.org. I am also a member there. Hope this helps.
Hello PaulMD,
Thank you for the feed back. On the PROGNOSIS question my sister has the cancer and she is 59 years old. She has been vigilant with her health care and her mamogram in June 07 showed nothing but in Oct 07 a 4cm mass she found on her on. After 3 FNB and 2 core biopsies , one round of A/C it had grown to 8cm by April 08 . Her tumor was triple negative and node negative. BTW, I'm sorry ,the diagnosis is Metaplastic , not Megaplastic. If you can put this information in the adjuvantonline website I would appreciate it very much.
Thanks again

Hi there.
The prognosis of breast cancers can be affected by a lot of factors, especially the age, nodal status, and presence or absence of the hormone receptors. If you would supply your age, I can input your data on Adjuvant! Online (at www.adjuvantonline.com). The prognostic model will tell you the percentage of survival and how much benefit you can derive from additional treatments such as hormonal therapy and chemotherapy. Since the mass is also quite large, additional benefit can be derived from radiation therapy.
Regards.
