OT----I need to blow some steam off

by natashalo8, May 19, 2008 08:19PM
i am so upset and i don't even know if i really should be! i talked to my boss last friday about her hiring me back full time. she told me she would think about it. i was completely happy with that. then today i come to work and one of my coworkers who happens to be a very good friend, tells me she over heard our boss telling another coworker that she had no intentions of giving me that position.

that's understandable if she doesn't want to give it to me b/c i did just drop from full time to PRN but what really infuriates me is the fact that she lied to me. she had no plans on giving me this job, she just told me that b/c she knew i would start looking for another job if she told me otherwise. if i quit, this place is going to be screwed, at least for a couple months b/c the turnover rate in my department is so bad that they barely have enough ppl to cover all the shifts...actually they don't have enough ppl to cover the shifts at all.

so in my rage (of hormones?) i went off on my boss...called her out on her lie and put in my 2 weeks notice to leave this place completely. now, i have pretty much screwed myself! i'm definitely not going to get the full time position now b/c of my temper tantrum....but i really don't even want it anymore. i don't want to work for someone who is going to lie to me about trivial matters. am i crazy...is it my hormones? did i make a bad decisions on leaving?

I'm kinda in a similar situation. Friday I was suppose to only work 7am -11:30am but at 12 still no one to relieve me so I could leave. I finally got a hold of my manager at 1:30 by this time I had already told my SIL to bring the baby to me at work since she was going to be screwed with out a babysitter and needed to be at work at noon herself.  So here I am now babysitting and working. I work at a hotel. I'm just glad that I could do that.  I had him behind the counter playing. He's a really good baby.

My manager of course doesn't do anything that will in any way inconvenience herself. For her to come in on her day off would NEVER happen.  I ended up not leaving work until 4:30pm when I finally got someone to come in myself. The manager did absolutely nothing to find someone to come in.  I'm always doing her job and I don't get paid for it she does.

Anyways the girl who did the NO SHOW still has her job. It's now tuesday and she's still not fired. I'm debating weather or not to tell my boss that It's me or her. I'm not going to work for a business that rewards this kind of action. This isn't the first time that this girl has been late and not just 10 mintues I've had to stay up to 2 hours late a few times.

I have been unhappy with my job since the place was sold and now under new ownership and the asst manager is now General Manager she's worthless at her job.

I have a job interview today *crossing fingers*

well i hope you get the job! i'm going tomorrow to put in a resume at every place i can in my town. i just hope to find something fast, b/c i will have a little one to provide for.

i ended up putting in my 2 weeks and sticking with it. i'm tired of my supervisor's conniving ways. i turned her in to our department head and she's most likely going to be reprimanded for discussing my confidential information with the employees that work under her. this isn't the first time she has done this and i'm sure it's not the last. one of these days she's going to breech confidentiality and be in a whole heap of trouble!

The interview went very well. He's gonna call me later this week to schedule a second interview with the other owner and manager.

Hope you find something soon
