Are Mysterious high Cholestrol Levels related to Asthma Medication?

My girlfriend has been suffering with Asthma in the past few years- She was diagnosed when she was 19 - has been admitted to ICU twice and is now on medication to deal with the asthma- the problem is she is experiencing high levels of cholestrol (about 6.20) and she is not obese and watches her diet carefully. The doctors cant determine the reason for the high cholestrol? What can she do ? Your help will be appreciated. Thanks!
Her brief history is given below (some information not that important but included for accuracy):
Age 25
Height: 1.6m
Weight: 54kg
Cholic as a baby
A lot of sinus problems , At 11 years for nasal drainage
At 18 was admiited to hospital due to sudden attack of asthma – Had steroid injections – cortisone, predisone, O2 24hrs – pump
At 19 repeat incident , no medication was prescribed – predisone- ventolin
At 20 left bone on nose was crooked- straightened , tonsils removed- had attack- trouble breathing , every 3 months nebulisation.
At 20 changed – inflammmide
At 23 changed to a combination of inflammide and serevent
At age 20 high levels of cholesterol – value of 6. 0 detected in blood type , O blood type.Age 20 -21 used Roacutane Cant remember dosage.discontinued after 8 months. No change cholesterol.
Anaemic at 23 0 took some sort of medication. Yasmine was started for 12 months to treat symptons of PMS and to combat acne.
At age 24 took doxycyclin (1tablet daily)antibiotics for infections to treat acne. Diane for two months and then onto Roactune for 4months at 10mg/twice day. Remained on inflammide (200mg/twice day) and serevent (1 puff twice a day).
Current value of cholesterol 6.2 January 2008. Doctors refuse to put on cholesterol tablets due to side effects and young age.
Still watching diet and regular exercise.
