My son is 4 and his asthma is questionable...

by MissMary38, May 20, 2008 10:03AM
My son is 4 and just started seeing an allergist who gave him Albuterol. He's only taken it 2 x and both times he gets very agitated and rubs his face really hard. He coughs all night long and vomits, so we have to do something. His Primary Care has now suggested inhaled steriods. Anyone have a 4 year old on inhaled steriods?

If he has not seen a pediatric pulmonologist he should. Steriods are never a good idea unless there is no other option at all..............regardless of age. Also, at night be sure he sleeps on a slight incline which will aid in less mucous and less coughing.
