Diabetes - Juvenile Community

6 year old fasting sugar is 146 but h1c shows 5.3 do I need to watch this?

My 6 year olds fasting sugar levels in the morning are 146-150 after 12 hours fasting.We had a h1c test done and it came back 5.3. We have a family history of juvenile diabetes Im wondering is this something I need to watch . Im confused on what the h1c should be hes 46 pounds 6 years old.

h1c is well within the non diabetic range, which in the uk would be around 4 to 6.5 but of course with your family history keep an eye out. if it helps when juvenile diabetes comes on the syptoms are very obvious, and they come on very quickly, unlike type 2 theres no missing type 1.hope this helps, am just a mum whos daughter was diagnosed age 9, louise

type 1 diabetes is FATAL without insulin, there is NO other way. these kids can not have full blown type 1 diabetes, absolutly NO WAY
