What is my husband is the Type 1 Diabetic?

by cha_cha03, May 20, 2008 06:21PM

My hubby and I have been together for years.  Looking to have children in the near future. I luckily do not have any medical conditions at this time but need to lose weight.  However, my hubby has been Type 1 Diabetic since 14 years of age.  He also has Yoshimoto's Disease w/ his Thyroid too.  His sister also has an auto-immune disease with her liver.  Is all of these health problems they have encountered mean that my baby would be doomed from birth with the?

I don't know if it is along the same family genes but they also have cousins that have Multiple Sclerosis & dwarfism.

Really scared to get pregnant with all of these negatives hanging over.
