Was the diagnosis of cold sores given to you by a physician?
I suggest that if you have not been assessed by a doctor yet, you may need to have an initial assessment done. Cold sores are recurrent. Stress, infections, and a poor diet may trigger their recurrence. You may need antiviral medications for this. Have you been prescribed any oral medications for the condition?
I have some kind of paste with zinc-oxide. It doesn't really do much, but it helps to prevent one sore from spreading or advancing...
When was the last time you saw a physician?
I suggest that you have this assessed. You have noted that the sores are not only localized in one area but they are also very recurrent and affect other parts of the face. You may need some antiviral medications to help hasten healing. Pain relievers may also help in alleviating the pain that comes with the cold sores.
