These twitchings are called "myokymias" and are spontaneous movements of the muscles controlling the eyelids. These are most commonly due to stress, anxiety, or inadequate sleep. Rarely, this could be the beginning of motor or movement disorders but is very unlikely to develop. I suggest you avoid the triggering factors such as stress, lack of sleep and anxiety, and to report to your doctor any changes or progression that you may observe.
