left sided facial - head numbness. please help

by motox1027, May 21, 2008 09:35AM
I have been having left sided faical - head numbness. The areas effected are the left side of my face (never the whole side, and ear-around the ear area, tmeple area. The numbness is really annoying. its like a slight burn type numbness. I am 24 yr male. I had a sinus ct scan which was normal. I had a brain mri and mra which was normal. My jaw on that left side cracks alot and makes squishy noises when i move it side to side, but I am having doubts that TMJ couls cause this. Any ideas? When I wear sunglasses, the numbness is dulled, and I feel better. I always have to wear them now. When I sleep I feel fine, or lay down... it seems like slight pressure or something toughing the area dulls the annoying effect..

tmj can wreak havoc on ones head. If you can aford o address that possibility do so. Physical therapy, dental mouthgards, exercise, avoiding certain foods....

Make sure you document clearly and concisely on paper, types of course, the course of your disease,timeline....all of the symptoms, even ones you arent' sure about. save one copy and give onto the doc,,,,every visit write a new report/ one for you and one for the doc.

.reasearh on the computer possible diagnosis.+-know as much from trusted sites about your conidition and  even other things,  keep fighting. keep looking.  help is out there,
