Course interstitial markings

by Chickie350, May 21, 2008 09:46AM
My husband had a bad cold and then a persistent cough for about two months before going to see the doctor.  His cough was productive early on but is not productive now.  His doctor prescribed an antibiotic and sent him for a chest x-ray.  The x-ray showed course interstitial markings on both lungs.  His doctor suggests he 1) do nothing, 20 get a CAT scan, 3) see a lung specialist.  What do these markings on his lungs mean?  What sort of follow up should he receive?
