The klonopin should fully cover you from both medications....no physical withdrawal, just your psychological fear that only xanax can help you, which is wrong.

When you are tapering off one med and taking another med to replace it , the second med usually gives you enough support so you don't feel any withdrawal symptoms from stopping the first medication.
I switched from 225mg effexor (and thats got a nasty withdrawal effect-lightning bolts in the brain) to 20 mg paxil with not even a single nightmare of headache.
When you get teh meds from the pharmacy, ask for the information insert and read it thouroughly. educate yourself on the things you are putting in your body and you wont be so frightened.

I was on xanax for many years, until my Dr. said I has accidently addicted to it. She put me in the hospital and changed me over to klonipon with no problem. I have been on klonipon for 8 years now with no  problems. I never got withdrawls ,once put on klonipon. Good luck. Jasmine
